Spend your Saturday night rocking out to tunes from some local bands and feel good knowing your money is going to help those in need.
The Resilience is a nonprofit event at the McAllen Creative Incubator that will benefit the National Kidney Foundation.
The Fighting Kidneys, a team participating in the first annual Rio Grande Valley Kidney Walk, is going above and beyond to raise funds for an association that is important to its members.
"We felt like a lot of people have diabetes, especially in the Rio Grande Valley, and we want to bring more awareness to the Valley," said Crystal Perez, a member of The Fighting Kidneys.
Perez lost her father, Dr. Ricardo Jesus Perez, two years ago after he was diagnosed with renal disease and put on dialysis.
Several bands are on board for the charity event such as Big League, DJ Skootr, C-Styles, Madore and Methmare Motorcade.
The RGV Kidney Walk will take place on Saturday, Nov. 21, at the RGV Livestock Showgrounds in Mercedes.
