Pepe Aguilar, the son of music legend Antonio Aguilar who died only a few days ago, is due to perform at 8 p.m. Aug. 17 at Dodge Arena.

Jose Antonio “Pepe” Aguilar was born in the U.S. but raised in Zacatecas, Mexico.
The son of recording legends Antonio Aguilar and Flor Silvestre, Pepe Aguilar is part of a showbiz dynasty that includes his brother, Antonio “Tony” Aguilar Jr.
Aguilar was only 3 the first time he performed in public. By 5, he had been onstage at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
As a teenager, Aguilar took up the drums and rock music, inspired by progressive bands such as Pink Floyd and Jethro Tull.
As he got older, Aguilar returned to Latin music adding his modern pop influences to more traditional styles. Like his mother, Aguilar also developed a successful acting career.
His 1998 album “Por Mujeres Como Tu” spent nearly a year on the Latin and Mexican charts.
His next effort, 1999’s “Por una Mujer Bonita” won him a Grammy for Best Mexican-American/Tejano Music Performance.
