HARLINGEN - Atlanta rockers Sevendust will play the Rio Grande Valley in June in support of their latest album “Alpha.”
The band will perform at McAllen’s Graham Central Station on June 28.
“The band has been around for a number of years, and we’ve always supported them,” said Mike Quinn, a DJ and program director for Valley rock station KFRQ (“The Q”) 94.5. “They’ve developed a big following locally.”
The band’s latest single “Driven” has been on The Q’s top 10 request list for weeks, Quinn said.
“People call and request the song all the time,” Quinn said.
“Alpha,” the band’s sixth studio album, was released in March and debuted at number 14 on the Billboard 200 charts.
The band will kick off its U.S. summer tour June 7 in Chattanooga, Tenn. The bands Breaking Benjamin, Godsmack and Three Days Grace are scheduled to support Sevendust on some tour dates, according to the band’s official Web site (www.sevendust.info).
The Q is sponsoring the McAllen concert. Ticket information will be available in June, Quinn said.
