Hottest Swimsuit Contest winners announced

Readers choose Jennifer Pokrass and Jordan Leech.

Jordan Leech and Jennifer Pokrass are the winners of TheV247.com's Hottest Swimsuit Contest.

Jennifer Pokrass won TheV247.com's Hottest Swimsuit Contest with a little help from her friends.

In May, the Rancho Viejo resident came in second-place in TheV247.com's Hottest Bar Staffer Contest. Pokrass' friend and co-worker, Veronica Lawrence, won that one, but this time around Lawrence chose to campaign for her friend.

"Veronica helped out a lot," Pokrass said. "She and a lot of other friends and family got the word out, went online and made it happen."

Getting the word out was key to winning the contest prize package, which includes a two-night stay for two at a South Padre Island hotel and dinner for two at Louie's Backyard. TheV247.com readers voted on contestants' swimsuit photos every week, starting July 4 through August 20. Pokrass led the female contestants every week, usually with a margin of fifty to 100 votes.

"You have to hustle to get those votes," Pokrass said.

Pokrass creatively added links to her contestant page on her MySpace.com profile and encouraged her friends and family to do the same. She also relied on her strong relationships with customers at the Coral Reef Lounge on South Padre Island, where she works as a bar staffer.

Now that the contest is over, Pokrass plans to celebrate and relax.

"It's really cool to win this. I'm going to have a party with my friends and enjoy the moment," she said.

Jordan Leech, the male-division winner, has similar celebration pans.

"I'm going to have a fiesta," he said. "I'm going to bring my deadbeat friends that don't have jobs to eat Louie's,"

Leech, a Tupelo, Mississippi native, moved to South Padre Island in February. The local surfer credits his win to his Island friends, especially the girls.

"I got a lot of vocal South Padre Island friends that got the word out. It was the island girls that really helped me," he said.

Leech said he'll take the prize package, but he's not sure he deserves it.

"There are probably way better looking guys to pick from out there. I don't know how I snuck in on that one, but I came out a winner."

It's like when you see a girl's pic on myspace and she looks super hot, but when you meet her in person, she doesn't live up. Even if she looks good, you're still disappointed. That chick in the video doesn't look like the one I voted for.

Jennifer, you should be in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition. Hook'em Horns from Austin.

Jennifer, when you got it, you got it. Obviously you care about your body, and take care of yourself. You're a hottie and don't let anyone think you're not. Enjoy.

Loved your video Jordan. Been here for only one month and you're voted Hottest Swimsuit. Sweet. Hope to see you on the Island

Mother or not she's hot! And what difference does it make if she's a mom or not. She earned the title. Week after week she received the most votes. Next time, speak your mind by casting your vote every day. Or better yet, enter the contest

Not a sore loser. Didn't enter the contest, and don't know a single contestant. The girl does look bangin for a woman who's had a child. But this wasn't a 'hottest mothers' contest. In her contest pics, she's the best lookin one of the group. BUT a lot of the other girls in the contest look better than she does now. It's obvious she's heavier. Not trying to be cruel, but she didn't deserve to win. She must think so too or she would have used recent photos. Maybe she would have won anyway even lookin the way she does now, but we'll never know, cause she decided to be unfair. v247 screwed this one up. Any legit photo contest should have in the rules that the entries have to be recent. There were women obviously over 40 who looked GOOD for their age. Maybe they should have used pics of them at 20.

I hate sore losers! I think Jennifer looks great, especially after having a child. I think people should be proud that there are women who look like Jennifer even after having a child. Keep up the good work Jennifer. Envy is just like praise

Whoever did the winners photo shoot did a great job. Kudos on the photos and video. Looks like the winners had fun during the shoot as well. Congratulations winners.

Too bad she looks about 20 lbs heavier now that in the photos she used to enter the contest. Were those taken before having the kid? That seems like cheating to me. Why wasn't there a rule that the photos had to be recent?
